All you need is love… and an inspiring eLearning Read!

Did you know that similar to the scientific method, instructional and learning designers have a designated method that they follow to produce learning materials?

There are hundreds of models out there. ADDIE, SAM, Gagne’s 9 Events, among many more. One consistency of all of these models is that at the end of the day, serving the learner of your learning design is of the utmost importance. Therefore, learning designers must be open to adaptation and development of new methods. To represent this, see the LEARNER method below, developed for a recent client:

The LEARNER Method by Laura Lawson

Let’s witness a learning deliverable using the LEARNER method:

Could you find all of the steps during the LEARNER method above? If not, that’s okay! The steps are specific and segue from one to another. Some steps are unseen but felt. As a learning designer, it is important to allow learners to engage in four characteristics during online learning engagements: cognitive, behavioral, emotional, and social. From the style of learning to the social presence of the learning designer, acquiring all four elements will allow learners of all ages, levels, and cultures to have the highest level of learning experience possible.

Thank you for joining me today!

Best,

Laura
